Europes Biggest Fire Rages in Ryazan

Russia — Big peat fire is raging in the Ryazan region all week, having passed over 1,300 hectares since its beginning, RBC reported with reference to the news service of Federal Forestry Agency ofRussia.
The fire is the biggest of all fires currently burning in the European part of Eurasia, the agencys representative told RBC. It is raging in Ryazans Klepikovsky district and the local authorities are unable to contain it.
A serious fire was also reported in the Moscow region, where the temperatures reached the highest values of ever recorded. The fire covered peatbogs of roughly 1 hectare in Orekhovo-Zuevo district of the region.
Overall, the Moscow region is suffering from 18 seats of peat fire with the area of 5.9 hectares. This morning, the sent of smoke has been evident in many districts of Moscow and the Gorkovskoe highway has been asmoke.
