Bulgaria — Wildfire crews from across the country have been called to help fight blazes near the town of Stara Zagora, Central Southern Bulgaria, after the mayor declared state of emergency.
Fire-fighters have been battling the flames for three days already, which spread a think fog over the town.
The check of environmental inspectors detected disturbingly high levels of sulphur hydrogen and carbon oxide in the air and recommended that citizens refrain from going outside.
A heat wave driving temperatures over 40 degrees has sparked a series of fires across Bulgaria.
