Glades County, USA — A 15,000 acre brush fire is burning in Glades County.Officials with the Division of Forestry say it is about 75-percent contained butadded the blaze has enough fuel to double in size.

Residents are under a voluntary evacuation order, according to the GladesCounty Sheriff’s Office. Maple Grove Church in Lake Port is open for evacuees.

Tuesday night, CR 78 was closed from CR 721 to Buckhead Ridge Road becausethe fire was creating some dangerous driving conditions. But it has sincereopened.

Twenty mobile homes were threatened Tuesday night, but no evacuations havebeen called for.

Officials say they are planning to burn everything inside the contained firelines to knock the fire down before it can grow any larger.
