Kaluakoi, Hawaii, USA — Maui Countyfire officials reported no change Thursday in a wildfire that scorched anestimated 3,000 acres around Kaluakoi earlier in the week.

The fire was considered 80 percentcontained but is still burning in areas that are inaccessible to firefighters.Molokai fire crews are continuing to monitor the area burned by the fire andmopping up on hot spots.

The fire was first reported at 12:12 p.m. Monday and spread rapidly acrossthe open fields around Kaluakoi before it was contained. The cause of the fireremains under investigation.
