Koprivshtitsa, Bulgaria —  A large forest fire is roaring near the Bulgarian town of Koprivshtitsa, the editor-in-chief of the local Kambana newspaper, Reneta Atanasova told FOCUS News Agency.

There were six hot spots at the beginning. The fire has caused damages accounting to millions of Bulgarian levs.

The Municipal Council of Koprivshtitsa has called an emergency meeting, which is attended by the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Forestry StefanYurukov.

It is supposed that the fire was started by people who cut trees illegally and wanted to obliterate the traces.
