Wildfire threatens seaside homes near LosAngeles

USA — A wind-driven wildfire burned out of control near the oceansideSouthern California community of Malibu on Monday, torching at least three homesand prompting evacuations in the exclusive area.

The blaze broke out in brush and quickly threatened a number homes in Malibu,a 26 mile stretch of coastline, much of which is lined with multimillion dollarbeachfront estates.

Dozens of firefighters aided by water-dropping aircraft battled the flames,which quickly blackened about 10 acres, driven by hot Santa Ana winds and lowhumidity.
