California, USA — The Stater Bros. “Family” of Employees is proud toannounce that a $40,000 check will be presented to 5th District Riverside CountySupervisor Marion Ashley for the Esperanza Firefighters Assistance Fund onTuesday, December 19, 2006 at the Company’s Oak Valley Supermarket in Beaumont.This charitable contribution represents donations made by Stater Bros.’customers, members of the Stater Bros. “Family” of Employees, and theCompany.
These funds will be used to provide assistance to the families of the five U.S. Forest Service firefighters who were killed battling the Esperanza Fire inRiverside County. To date, the fund has grown to over $1,000,000.
Stater Bros. is inviting the media and public to attend this special checkpresentation which will include representatives from the U. S. Forest Service,California Department of Forestry, Wildland Firefighters Foundation, RiversideCounty Board of Supervisors and Stater Bros. Markets.
