Virginia, USA — Firefighters have made progress in their battle against aforest fire in Amherst County.  About 2,900 acres on Peavine Mountain haveburned since Sunday.

The fire near the Blue Ridge Parkway is now about 90% contained.  Morethan 130 firefighters from around the country are on scene, though some are nowbeing sent home.  Investigators believe people started the fire.
