Perth, Western Australia — Western Australian police say a rescue operation is under way to get to a number of people who are trapped in a bushfire north of Perth.
Fire crews are battling the out-of-control fire at Whiteman Park in the Swan Valley.
No further information is available at this stage.
The park covers an area of more than 4,200 hectares, with nearly half classified as high-value conservation bushland orwetland.
