Russia —  Two Beriyev Be-200 amphibious planes of the Russian EmergencySituations Ministry have left from Khabarovsk for Indonesia for putting downforest fires. Their mission will last for over a month.

According to updated reports, 27 million hectares of forestsare on fire in Indonesia, while haze has spread onto over 550,000 squarekilometers, the press service of the ministry’s Far Eastern regional centersaid on Sunday.

The haze has become a national disaster and a serious factorfor the ecology of neighbor countries and the merchant navigation in the MalaccaStrait. The Be-200 will fly above China and Vietnam and fight the fire onSumatra and Kalimantan.
