SINGAPORE : Singaporeans can breathe easier as it looks like it’ll be clearer skies ahead.
The National Environment Agency (NEA) says a changing weather pattern in the region is already starting to kick in.
And it could mean the end of hazy days in Singapore, at least for the rest of this year.
Typically, the region is shrouded with haze when forest burning activities take place during the last quarter of the year.
The NEA says the current weather is moving out of the southwest monsoon, and Singapore will soon experience the northeast monsoon.
It’ll also bring more rain when the new monsoon season is in full swing by the end of November.
With wetter days, NEA says it’ll clear up the haze significantly.
On top of that, shifting wind conditions from the east and northeast will likely blow the haze away from Singapore. – CNA /ls
