Finland — The large forest fire that flared up in Kemijärvi in northern Finland Tuesday has been contained but is still burning, Heikki Niskala, divisional officer of the Lapland fire brigade, told the Finnish News Agency (STT) Thursday.
The fire has ravaged more than 60 hectares of forest but it has been prevented from spreading. Fire fighting helicopters and around 50 people, many of them conscripts, have participated in containing the forest fire.
No people have been hurt in the blaze.
