Yunnan, China — As of Sunday evening, more than 4,000 people have been mobilized to quench the forest fire in the city of Anning, southwest China’s Yunnan Province.

According to the source with the local government, the fire occurred at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday in Longshan Forest, near the province capital of Kunming.

The fire was under control on Thursday but strong wind on Thursday afternoon relit the fire, making it ravage 6000 mu (400 hectares) of the forest.

The ten-kilometer fire belt injured three firemen and affected the normal life of 51 households, who have already been relocated by the local government.

A working team from the State Forestry Administration arrived at Anning on Sunday to organize the fire fighting work.
