Forest fire put out in Beijing outskirt

BEIJING — A forest fire has been brought under control in outskirtan Huairou District a suburb of Beijing on Saturday. No one was hurt by the fire.

The local forest fire control department is investigating the cause, the damage and the affected areas.

The fire began Friday afternoon at a mountain in Huairou District which borders Fengning County in Hebei Province.

About 2,000 fire fighters and helicopters were used to fight the fire.

Vice Mayor Niu Youcheng came to the site to help direct the fire fighting.
