After a brief respite, Working on Fire aerial and ground crews are once again called to the firelines

Extremely hot and dry weather conditions prevail.

Twentysix 22 person Working on Fire crews have been deployed in Mpumalanga, Zululand, Gauteng, and Limpopo to assist local firefighting resources at a total of 22fires.

15 fires continue to burn out of control in 3 provinces.

All available aerial resources, including both WOF Disaster Management Mi8 Helicopters, are active.

Fires are burning in conservation lands, commercial forests, grasslands, orchards and at asawmill. 

One dwelling in Mpumalanga has been lost.

A community near Kwambonambi in Zululand is under threat and one WOF Disaster Management Helicopter has been deployed to this fire. 

Earlier today a community in Gauteng was reported to be at risk but this fire has been brought under control.
