A wildland fire breaks out at the Air Force Academy. It was sparked by a routine training exercise. It happened early Sunday morning near Northgate Road and the Santa Fe Trail.
The Air force Security Squadron was testing grenades when the fire started. A spokesman says a breeze carried a parachute flare into a grassy area and sparked several small fires.
Firefighters had the fire contained in less than two hours.
