29 December 2004 – It took about two hours for the forestofficials, personnel of the Royal Bhutan Army, Royal Bhutan Police and the RoyalBody Guards to douse a forest fire above Langjophakha.

Forest officials were alerted this afternoon byeyewitnesses after they saw huge flames and thick smokes rising from a hilladjacent to Langjophakha. 

The extent of damage done to the pinewood forest is yet to beevaluated. 

An anim and a women making some religious offering are believed to havecaused the fire. 

Another fire was sighted on a mountain-top above WangSisina. The fire was still raging when last seen around 5:30 pm today.
