Fires Return to Russian Far East

Four fires covering 28,300 hectares of forests are blazing in the Far Eastern federal region. Five seats of fire have been put out, with 12 new breaking out, the Far Eastern Department of State Control of the Russian Natural Resources Ministry reports. Wednesday morning, 20 seats of fire have been detected in taiga tracts of the Khabarovsk territory, 8 in the Maritime territory, 7 in the Jewish Autonomous Area and 6 in the Amur region. 3 more fires have been reported in departmental forests. Over 400 people, 7 aircraft and 65 units of equipment are engaged in extinguishing operations. The total of 370 fires covering 54,500 hectares of forests have been reported since the fire hazardous period began.
