ECE/FAO/ILO Seminar on Methods and Equipment for the Prevention of Forest Fires

Valencia, Spain, 30 September – 04 October 1986

The Seminar on Methods and Equipment for the Prevention of Forest Fires was held at the invitation of the Government of Spain. The seminar followed the first thematic seminar held in 1981 (ECE/FAO/ILO Seminar on Forest Fire Prevention and Control, Warsaw, Poland, 18-22 May 1981). Results of the seminar in Spain were published by the National Institute for Nature Conservation:

Field impressions – Demonstration of Fire Management Methods and Equipment

On 2 and 3 October 1986 the Instituto Nacional para la Conservacion de la Naturaleza guided the seminar participants to field sites and fire management demonstrations – including the presentation of advanced equipment of firefighters (personal protection equipment and specialized hand tools).
