Meinrat O. Andreae


Meinrat O. Andreae is Director of the Biogeochemistry Department, Max Planck Institute for Chemistry. He is also professor in the Environmental Engineering Science Dapartment at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech.). One of his main scientific interest is in the role of fire in atmospheric chemistry and biogeochemical cycles. The research groups in the Biogeochemistry Department are all fully or partially involved in fire research. M.O. Andreae served as convener of the BIBEX project (IGBP/IGAC) between 1990 and 1998.
