These images from the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) on NASAs Aqua satellites show several fires between 1 and 3 April 2007, in Cuba.
Big fires were ravaging through the forest sector Motembo in the Santa Claraprovince,Central Cuba, where they devastated around 1000 ha of pine plantations.The fires started on Sturday afternoon and forced the evacuation of 130 people.The fires spread rapidly due to strong winds and severe drought
