A large and smoky fire was burning in eastern Québec on 8 June2006 when the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) on NASAs Terrasatellite captured this image; the active fire is outlined in red. A cloud of smoke spreadnorthwest.
