The images below are from the MODIS (Moderate ResolutionImaging Spectroradiometer) on the Aqua satellite on October 22, 2003 at 20:34UTC. Thick smoke plumes(gray) are visible from fires burning in California inthe true color image(left, RGB=channel1, 4, 3). Heat signatures and smokeplumes( light blue haze) are visible in the false color image(right, RGB=channel22, 2, 1).
