With Siberia still covered in snow (top), parts of northern China (left) andRussia (right) are thawing. Fires (red dots) indicate agricultural activity isunderway, as farmers and ranchers prepare land for planting and pasture. Thisimage was acquired on 22 March 2003. The high-resolution image provided aboveis 500 meters per pixel. The MODIS Rapid Response System provides this image atMODIS maximum spatial resolution of 250meters.
