Description: Over westernAfrica, the ModerateResolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) on the Aquasatellite captured this image of numerous fires (red dots) burning in Mali,Mauritania, Senegal, and Guinea. This image was acquired on November 2, 2002. Atthe top of the image are the southern reaches of the Sahara Desert.
