The fire assessment team consisting of representatives ofMARD, the Ca Mau Province, GTZ-GFMC, and UNDP reported on 21 and 22 April that the fire in U Minh Ha Park is stillcontained. 500 firefighters (mainly military) are patrolling and controlling the situation. Before morethan5000 people had been involved in fighting the fire.
According to a telephone conference with the assessment group at 03:30 GMT the situation assessment is extended toanother Park site.
The follow-up actions are not yet finally decided.
