The fire activities and smoke signals depicted by NOAA AVHRR in Congo Democratic Republic are land clearing fires in the rain forest biome of the Congo Basin and in interspersed and adjoining Miombo forests.
There is no detailed information available on fire in Congo Democratic Republic. However, some information is available on neighbouring Central African Republic.
The TOMS aerosol data of 7 February 2001 confirm fires burning in Congo Democratic Republic.
