Forest fires broke out in the region around Genoa after several weeks of drought. Authorities reported that strong winds are fanning the fires burning along the coast of Liguria. In some cases fire fighters did not manage, even with the assistance of water bombers to get the fires under control. There are six small fires still burning. These fires were reported to be the first forest fires this year.
