Several active fire signals in Cuba are recorded by OSEI with the NOAA AVHRR Sensor on 5 February 2001.

Several small heat signatures (red) and smoke (light blue) are visible.
Many of the fires may be due to seasonal clearing of farmland ahead of the crop season.
