The NOAA AVHRR satellite images of 6 April 2000 reflect the overall fire situation in Central America as it was highlighted in the GFMC reports on 31 March, 1 April, 4 April, 5 April, 6 April 2000 and 7 April 2000. Todays images show heat signatures (dark red) from fires in Yucatan Peninsula/Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador. Clouds still cover parts of Guatemala where major fire activity was observed during the last days.
