The NOAA AVHRR satellite image of 5 April 2000 reflect the overall fire situation in Central America as it was highlighted in the reports from Honduras on 31 March 2000, and Central America on 1 April, 4 April and 5 April 2000. Todays image shows, that clouds cover the major hot spots previously observed and also reported in Guatemala, Honduras and Belize. Heat signatures (dark red) can still be seen on the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico, Nicaragua and eastern Honduras.
