Burn scars are recorded by OSEI on 11 May 1999.

Figure 1 shows burn scars in areas of Manitoba and Ontario where fires were actively burning last week. A storm system passed over the region late last week and over the weekend

Because of very little snow or rain this past winter and spring, predictions for a forest fire summer are given.
