The Asia ForestPartnership (AFP) is a regional forum to promote sustainable forest managementin Asia by addressing some urgent issues including good governance and lawenforcement, combating illegal logging, forest fire, and reforestation andrehabilitation of degraded forest lands. To strengthen thepartnership, ITTO supports the AFP to convene a regional workshop that bringstogether a broad range of stakeholders, including relevant civil society andprivate sector organisations in the Asia region, from both consumer and producercountries.
Within theperspective outlined above, the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic ofIndonesia will convene the Regional Workshop on Strengthening the Asia ForestPartnership (AFP) at Hyatt Regency Hotel, Yogyakarta on 30 August – 1 September2004.
