WILDFIRE CONFERENCE IRAN
First International Conference of Wildfire on Natural Resources Lands

In the recent decade wildfires have increasingly affected forest lands in the Hyrcanian region. The Golestan Province Governorate and the Faculty of Forest Sciences of Gorgan University of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources are organizing the First International Conference of Wildfire on Natural Resources Lands as a joint international conference with collaboration of Iran’s National Elites Foundation, 26-28 October 2011, in Gorgan, capital of Golestan Province, Iran. The Iranian part of Hyrcanian forests that is one of ancient forests in the world, is extended in the three provinces including Golestan, Mazandaran and Gilan. The Golestan Province has ancient and natural attractive places.
The Conference will provide a forum for researchers and scientists to discuss the recent developments in wildfire science and technology, analysis the problem and promote cooperation in its management, controlling, monitoring and ecological effects study, also to share new achievements and approaches in the related fields:
- Climate change and wildfires
- Fire management
- Fire fighting
- Wildfire effects on the environment
- Post-fire restoration
- Wildfire ecology and behavior
- New technologies in wildfire suppression
- Social and ecological issues
- Organizational structure in crisis management in wildfire emergencies
