Following the Third International Symposium on SustainableManagement of Forest Resources, held in April 2004, the Forest Study Center atthe University of Pinar del Río, Cuba announces the Fourth InternationalSymposium on Sustainable Management of Forest Resources (SIMFOR 2006), as wellas the First International Workshop on Fire Management.

Sponsorship is provided by the Food and AgricultureOrganization of the United Nations (FAO), the International Union of ForestryResearch Organizations (IUFRO), the International Center of Forest Research (CIFOR),the Global Fire Monitoring Center (GFMC) and the Forest Guard (CGB).

Both activities will be held in Pinar del Río, Cuba from 19- 22 April 2006.
