About the Conference
The Conference aims to involve scientists, researchers and policy makers whose activities are focused on different aspects of fires and their impacts.
The main objectives of the Conference are to:
– Advance knowledge on interactions, relationships, feedbacks, and cascading effects of fire on environment and society;
– Encourage discussion and sharing on fire modelling and monitoring, adaptation and mitigation strategies, and sustainable management;
– Foster constructive and interdisciplinary dialogue betweenscientist, stakeholders, and policy makers;
– Promote international cooperation.
The II International Conference on Fire Behaviour and Risk will take place in Alghero, island of Sardinia, Italy, between the 26th and 29th of May 2015
Conference Topics
– Fire Behaviour and Risk: Modeling and applications to assess fire behaviour, danger, exposure, and risk at local and broad scale
– Modeling and Monitoring fuel characteristics and fires: Fuel properties, fuel models, fuel moisture, remote sensing and fires
– Fire Management: Fire ecology, wildland fuels, post-fire re-toration, strategies and instruments for the management of burned areas
– Climate and Fires: Relationships between climate/weather and fire ioccurrence, danger and behaviour. Analysis, projections, models and evaluation of climate change impacts and extremes on fires
– Socio-Economic Issues and Politicies: Instruments and policies to address the wildfire issue, future perspectives, and increase of adaptive and management capacity
