Meeting of Forest Fires Edition 2013
Entente pour la forêt Méditerranéenne
Forest Fires Meeting (Rencontres Feux de Forêt – RFF) 2013
Valabre, Aix-en-Provence, France, 17-18 October 2013
The ongoing climate changes are nowadays officially acknowledged. Throughout the world, their impacts on Mediterranean type vegetation can already be observed. These vegetation and climate evolutions are being confirmed, it is thus certain that in a short term future, fire regime will also change. In this alarming context, foresters and fire fighting forces will have to disrupt their habits, fighting doctrines and forest planning. For the RFF 2013, Europeans, Americans and Australians will get together to reflect and put this new situation into perspective. The Entente pour la forêt Méditerranéenne, along with French authorities, will be committed on sharing ideas on a risk and on damages that can still be anticipated.
In the frame of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Entente pour la forêt Méditerranéenne, international experts and stakeholders will meet to focus on the current and upcoming fire problems and operational response.
