First Announcement VI International Conference on Forest Fire Research
15 – 18 November 2010, Coimbra, Portugal
Since 1990 the International Conference on Forest Fire Research has been held every 4 years in Coimbra (Central Portugal), home to one of the oldest universities in the World. This Conference can be considered a milestone in European Research on Forest Fires as it was the first one in Europe with a worldwide dimension, bringing together scientists from all over the glove and from all quadrants of scientific research on this topic: fire and forest management, fire prevention, fire and fuel modeling, fire weather, fire safety, fire ecology, fire risk and so many others.
As usual the format of the Conference will include formal sessions, with keynote lecturers, oral presentation of papers, and poster sessions.
Authors willing to participate are encouraged to send an abstract on one of the previous topics and of no less than 300 words, but not exceeding three A4 pages, including key figures and tables, before 31 January 2010.

Place of the meeting
The VI ICFFR will be held in Coimbra, in Central Portugal.
Coimbra is well connected by road and train to Lisbon (200 Km) and Oporto (100 Km). Information regarding accommodation shall be given in proper time.
