2nd International Meeting of Fire Effects on Soil Properties

Following the first and previous edition of the International Meeting of Fire Effects on Soil Properties that were held in Barcelona, Spain, in February 2007 by Grup de Recerca Ambiental Mediterrània (GRAM), the second edition of the meeting will be organized in 11-15 February 2009 in Marmaris, Turkey.
The first edition was very beneficial for researchers who study on different aspects of soil-fire relationships, and the second edition is expected to trigger collaboration further among the researchers as well.
The main subjects of the meeting are as follows;
- Fire effects on hydrology and soil physical properties,
- Fire effects on organic matter content and soil chemical properties,
- New methodologies to study fire effects on soil,
- Fire intensity and fire severity measurements,
- Soil recovery after fires,
- Fire effects on soil erosion,
- Fire effects on organisms related to soil.
