ISRSE 2007 Call for Papers
The Technical Program Committee for the 32nd International Symposium on Remote Sensing of Environment (ISRSE) will consider and evaluate all abstracts submitted that focus on one of the following topics and subtopics or related issues:
- Reducing loss of life and property from natural and human-induced disasters
- Understanding environmental factors affecting human health and well-being
- Improving management of energy resources.
- Understanding, assessing, predicting, mitigating, and adapting to climate variability and change.
- Improving water resource management through better understanding of the water cycle.
- Improving weather information, forecasting, and warning.
- Improving the management and protection of terrestrial, coastal, and marine ecosystems.
- Supporting sustainable agriculture and combating desertification.
- Understanding, monitoring, and conserving biodiversity.
- Earth Observation advances: Instrumentation, data management, capacity building and education
The first topic Reducing loss of life and property from natural and human-induced disasters includes the following issues:
- Earthquake warning / volcanic activity
- Avalanches / land slides
- Wildfires / forest fires / burnt areas
- Tsunami / storm surges
- Floods / droughts / hurricanes / typhoons
- Oil spills / industrial hazards
- Land subsidence
- Humanitarian aid & refugee management
- Pestilence
