Wildfire 2005 the second wildfire conference developed by Northwoods in partnership with Army Training Estate Otterburn will be held at Otterburn on 11 and 12 May 2005. Building on the success of Wildfire 2003, Northwoods are bringing together a range of national and international speakers for a national wildfire conference to discuss and share good practice in fire prevention techniques, fire management practices and long term strategic planning for improved wildfire management.
Wildfire 2005 is kindly supported by Northumberland National Parks, English Nature, Scottish Natural Heritage, Forestry Commission, Government Office for the North East, and the Emergency Planning Society. Northwoods are delighted to welcome the US Forest Service and the Smokey Bear campaign to Wildfire 2005 and look forward to sharing good practice in wildfire management on an international scale.
Who is the event for?
Wildfire 2005 is aimed at private and public sector land managers, fire service staff, local authority emergency planners, nature reserve managers along with anyone who owns or looks after land at risk from wildfire.
What will the 2-day programme include?
Wildfire 2005 will have a range of seminars from which to choose those which you would like to attend. You are therefore invited to select seminars of most relevance and interest to your personal preferences. The Wildfire 2005 conference will also provide an afternoon of live wildfire demonstrations using the latest in fire fighting equipment and PPE. Conference guests will be invited to take part in discussion forums and planning meetings to share planning and management practices for wildfire across the UK.
