Position Summary
Purpose of the job:Ensuring compliance to the National veld and forest act by planning and making of fire breaks for Sasol.
Required outputs: Functional
-Lead / manage the Working on Fire team
-Ensure the team are competent and prepared
-Make fire breaks as per schedule
-Fire load reduction actions as required
-Assist with grass fires when needed
-Support Emergency Management Strategy implementation
General:
-Work shifts when needed
-Comply to medical and physical requirements
-Conduct standby duties in accordance with shift schedule
-Code 8 drivers licence (Must)
-Code 14 drivers licence (EC – wish)
Job Requirements
Qualifications and expertise required
-Wildland fire fighting course (Must)
-Fire Fighter 1 (strong wish)
-Grade 12 (Must)
-Grass fire experience
-Level 3 First Aid
-Leadership skills
Specific experience required:
-Grass Fire fighting experience ( minimum 3 years)
-Managing fire crew during grass fires and making of fire breaks
-Knowledge / understanding National veld and Forest act & Fire Protection Association Regulations
