TAIEX TSI Online Workshop “Post-fire biodiversity and biotic natural capital recovery: Framework development in the case of Evia (Greece)” organised in co-operation with the European Commission (Directorate General for Structural Reform Support) and the Agency for Natural Environment & Climate Change (N.E.C.C.A.) of Greece. The Workshop aims to gather information, understanding and learn from peers facing similar challenges in restoration/ recovery of biodiversity and ecosystems following natural disasters (particularly forest fires), experiencing first-hand the achievements and discover the lessons learned. Purpose: (1) to support Greece in addressing post-fire support measures for the restoration/ recovery of the biodiversity and the ecosystems in burnt areas (e.g. Evia); (2) to support in setting-up a hub of experts and knowledge for designing, implementing and monitoring post-fire support measures for the restoration/ recovery of the biodiversity and the ecosystems in burnt areas. Meeting with leadership of Indonesian-German Programme FORCLIME (Forests and Climate Change Programme). FORCLIME’s overall objective is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from the forest sector while improving the livelihoods of Indonesia’s poor rural communities. In order to achieve this goal, the Programme team is supporting the Indonesian Government in the design and implementation of various legal, policy-related and institutional reforms aimed at the conservation and sustainable management of forests at the local, provincial and national levels. The geographic focus of FORCLIME is Eastern Indonesia and the Provinces of Central Sulawesi, Papua and West Papua. GFMC provides voluntary advisory services; GFMC, Freiburg, Germany.

Preview of Julian Charrière’s exhibition “Controlled Burn” in the Langen Foundation. From 4 September 2022 to 6 August 2023 Julian Charrière’s solo exhibition Controlled Burn will occupy the whole of the Tadao Ando designed Langen Foundation in Neuss, North Rhine-Westphalia, featuring 8 new commissions set within a constellation of major works from Charrière’s oeuvre, Controlled Burn represents the artist’s most extensive exhibition to date. The exhibition is supported by GFMC; Langen Foundation, Neuss, Germany.
