USA – Colorado is taking steps now ahead of what could be the worst wildfire season the state has ever seen. Senate President Steve Fenberg is the force behind a bill that would invest $15 million in first responders and communities by improving the state’s emergency dispatch system and adding a second air tanker and two choppers to firefighting efforts. The additions are aimed at preventing small fires from becoming disastrous large-scale wildfires. Fenberg’s bill would also create the Office of Climate Preparedness which would focus on climate adaptation and disaster recovery.
