The project “Fire in Landscape Management in Germany: The Kaiserstuhl Area in Baden Württemberg State” was a research and development project of the Fire Ecology Research Group / global Fire Monitoring Center (GFMC), Max Planck Institute for Chemistry, Biogeochemistry Department, c/o University of Freiburg. Between 1997 and 2000, the Phase I of the project was supported by the Ministry for Rural Space (Ministerium Ländlicher Raum) Baden-Württemberg State, Germany. After 2000, various on-site investigations and publications followed.
