MEXICO – ENSENADA.- An affectation of 2 thousand 310 hectares, among them 135 of wooded area (mainly pines), is the balance left by the forest fire that for a week was recorded in the southern part of the

Sierra de San Pedro Mártir National Park.

The generator of the National Forestry Commission (Conafor) in Baja California, Sergio Avitia Nalda, reported that the loss was already liquidated one hundred percent during the morning yesterday by brigade members of that unit.

He added that elements of the Ministry of National Defense (SEDENA), as well as personnel from the National Commission of Protected Natural Areas (CONANP), members of the Ensenada Fire Department and volunteers from the area, also joined the combat work. .

He stressed that after eight days of work, the last active points that debased the area were liquidated, in a large amount of shrub vegetation, which was 2 thousand 175 hectares.

In combat work, it was also supported by a helicopter from the Secretariat of the Navy (Sedena) for the transportation of food and personnel combatant (bpa).
