INDIA – Five forest employees were injured on Friday while dousing the forest fire in forests of Khuihama range in Bandipora district.
One among the five injured employees, Abdul Rashid, received critical injuries while dousing the forest fire. The five injured officials have been identified as Abdul Rashid, Fayaz Ahmad, Towseef Ahmad, Tahir Zulla and Ghulam Mohammad Sofi. All the injured officials sustained severe burn injuries.
Divisional forest officer Bandipora Abdul Hameed Malla told Greater Kashmir that the fire started from a small ridge and quickly spread to other areas. “Five forest employees received burn injuries while dousing the flames. It was a massive fire which started yesterday and our men are at work to control it,” said Malla.
