USA ANDERSON Co., S.C. (WSPA) Firefighters say they were threatened on the job by a man armed with a gun.
Firefighters responded Saturday to a grass fire on Canton Lane.
Several firefighters responded in their personal vehicles, and deputies say Roger Wood started threatening firefighters with a gun for parking near his property.
Because of the incident, Anderson County Fire Chief Jimmy Sutherland says volunteers are going to change some things. He said firefighters will wait until a deputy is with them on scene.
He said that could affect many people.
An incident report states that Wood pulled a pistol from his waist band and pointed it at a firefighter. Wood was highly intoxicated at the time, according to the report.
The Anderson County Sheriffs Office charged Wood with pointing and presenting a firearm, breach of peace and interference with firefighter authority.
