Australia —  MORE than 20 Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) and Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) crews are at the scene of a bushfire burning in the Mount Archer National Park (near Rockhampton).

There is no threat to property at this time. The fire has been burning for several days and crews are currently conducting backburning operations in the area.

Smoke and ash will be drifting over the Frenchville, North Rockhampton and Kalka areas throughout the afternoon.

Residents are asked to close windows and doors and if suffering from a respiratory condition, keep medication close by.

Motorists should drive with caution and to conditions.

If residents are concerned their property is under threat, they are advised to call Triple Zero (000) immediately.
