USA —  What started as a 3 a.m. grass fire Monday morning in the 17500 block of Avenue 168 in Woodville promptly spread and destroyed two mobile homes, a travel trailer, several vehicles and a small fishing boat.

“It started as a small grass fire at 3 in the morning,” said Mike Green, spokesperson for Tulare County Fire Department. “The occupant of the mobile home was awakened by some noise and when she looked up, saw that grass was on fire and was moving in the direction of the mobile home.”

While a threatened vehicle was being moved, the fire surrounded the mobile home, igniting it, Green said.

“It totally destroyed the mobile home and a second mobile home next to it that was not being used, as well as a 35-foot travel trailer, several vehicles and a small fishing boat.”

Tulare County Fire Department responded to the fire with five engines and two water tenders.

No injuries were sustained, and there was no monetary damage or savings reported.

The incident is under investigation by the Tulare County Fire Department.
